At some stage in their life cycle all businesses would benefit from self-analysis to question, improve and streamline their operational practices.
Most organisations are seeking the magic answer but sometimes they engage a diversity of separate consultants to deliver a way forward. This can often be dysfunctional.
We provide a fully integrated service and have the capability to draw together a project team to cover every business need. This is our differentiator.
The services provided in this area are completely bespoke, and the team necessary to deliver them are hand-picked for their skills. Those skills cross a wide range of service provision from legal and accountancy skills through to commercial operational delivery. We work hand in hand with professional s and experienced business operators to provide real and practical solutions to maximum effect.
In adverse circumstances business may find themselves in need of restructuring or rescue capabilities. Our team of business lawyers, corporate finance accountants, non-executive directors, restructuring experts, turn around consultants and insolvency practitioners can act swiftly to protect and preserve businesses under threat.
The same skill sets as utilised for the positive enhancement of businesses are applied here, but the agenda if different. Survival is key and our combined team can act as a formidable opponent against over scrutiny by funders thus providing a stable and legitimate framework that brings back confidence and renewed support.
Our team is unique and you will not find this combination of skills elsewhere within one organisation.

Denise is the founder of Glenville Walker and is Head of the Business Law department.

Denise has worked very closely with Corporate Finance for many years and as a result has developed a more rounded approach to business advice’s which has enhanced her reputation and has been recognised by her clients as different.

Group Financial Director
More than just an ‘ex-Banker’ Alistair spent 30 years in Commercial/Corporate Banking before leaving at the end of 2009.
Since then Alistair has run his own Businesses and currently has a number of Business interests. Consequently, Alistair understands, has empathy with and practical experience of the issues facing Business Owners. Traditionally trained and professionally qualified Alistair’s skill set lies firmly in the SME arena.
Alistair is a plain-speaking individual who manages client expectation at the outset and interfaces with the Bankers for the best result – Gamekeeper turned Poacher?
Whilst not previously promoting his Banking Review skills Alistair has been sought out over the last few years to help clients facing issues.
What others say about Alistair
“Alistair has worked closely with us for the last 4 years helping a Director to mitigate his Personal Guarantee obligation where the Bank was being extremely vague in its promises and enticing the Director to continue working out a development scheme with the ‘carrot’ of assessing the guarantee obligation at the end of the scheme. By becoming involved, understanding the Bank’s position and the nuances involved with the process of dealing with the Bank and being able to assess the benefits to the Bank of the Director remaining involved versus an Insolvency or appointment of an LPA Receiver, Alistair was able to provide a common-sense approach throughout, substantiated by costs / benefits to the Bank and this obligation was significantly reduced from £600k to just under £100k.”

Ian is our GDPR, “go to,” person with a unique blend of Data Privacy and Asset Finance skills to help guide clients away from the prolific risks of data mismanagement and focus on the benefits of GDPR in business.
He had just been appointed Company Solicitor for Alliance & Leicester Commercial Finance plc after 9 years in the legal team of Capital Bank plc when the Data Protection Act 1998 arrived. As well as manage and deliver the legal needs of a fast growing asset finance business he also had to design and implement a data privacy programme from the ground up.
Ten years later he joined Halliwells LLP to set up the asset finance offering within the Banking team. In 2007 he left to set up his own consultancy business specialising in data privacy.
Since then he has been consulted by Life Science companies for extended periods of 12 and 14 months in relation to their UK, pan-European and AsiaPac facilities, worked out cross border data transfer solutions and EU-US data transfers and handled a wide range of commercial issues.
In 2017 he wrote a paper on the destructive effects on corporate value of non-compliance with GDPR which resulted in him being appointed Special Consultant on GDPR to a Global Accountancy firm. He has worked with a global women’s healthcare organisation and its charity arm, a Fintech, a broad based Financial Services business, a five star internationally renowned hotel and a global agency of the UK Government in relation to its GDPR plans amongst others.
Ian says his strategic experience as Company Solicitor and twenty years on the FLA’s Legal Committee have been invaluable. Since 2011 he has also acted as Legal and Compliance director for a business working with the Public Sector in relation to its asset finance needs where he created and negotiated VAT recoverable Managed Equipment Service agreements for NHS clients, the largest being a National Cancer screening service worth £70 million.
His unique blend of GDPR and Asset Finance skills saved a £40 million finance deal structured as a sale of receivables stream into a bankruptcy remote SPV which was to issue loan notes backed by consumer credit finance agreements. He was part of a team called in to do due diligence prior to going to market. Ian found that the first piece of financial engineering destroyed the legality of the onward data flow. The Magic Circle firm which had created the finance and GDPR documentation accepted his finding that the flaw existed but were reluctant to do so as it struck every securitisation and receivables transaction they had advised upon. It was readily solved – the skill was in spotting it.
