Michael joined Glenville Walker in January 2023 to head the Commercial Litigation team, having previously been a partner at a prominent North West firm and having specialised in commercial litigation since qualification in 2010.
As Head of Commercial Litigation at Glenville Walker, Michael advises and represents clients in a broad range of commercial disputes and across a variety of sectors, with particular specialisms in shareholder and partnership disputes, property litigation, professional negligence actions and complex, high-value contractual disputes. Michael also advises clients in elation to specialist telecommunications matters and disputes.
Michael prides himself on an ability to assist clients in achieving objectives in a commercially sensible and cost-effective way. Clients appreciate Michael’s ability to grasp and explain complicated issues in simple and user-friendly terms. Michael has a wealth of experience in alternative forms of dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, and encourages clients to seek his advice at the first sign of potential disputes in order to manage issues proactively.
Recent work highlights include acting in a $26m unfair prejudice petition proceeding in the High Court in Manchester, thought to be the largest such action issued outside of London for several years, representing a US-based investment company against several defendants and involving freezing injunction relief over assets located worldwide.
The Legal 500 describe Michael as an “experienced first-rate litigator”.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his young family and is a keen runner, regularly participating in races across the country. Michael’s sporting loyalties belong to Tranmere Rovers and the Dallas Cowboys.
