Our Team
At Glenville Walker, our mission from the beginning has been to create the next generation of outstanding lawyers, leaving a legacy of excellence in the Northwest. Our commitment to developing the next pool of legal talent remains steadfast. Over the past eight years, we have built a reputation for granting training contracts and providing thorough training across our corporate, property, and commercial litigation teams.
We take immense pride in helping the next generation of legal professional’s advance in their careers. Our specialist business lawyers are paving the way. Denise Walker, Head of Corporate, Michael Smeaton, Head of Litigation and Dispute, Guy Pattison, Head of Property and Construction, lead our teams with expertise and dedication.
As we enter the new financial year, we are excited to announce the offering of two new training contracts to candidates selected from our recent recruitment drive. With over 160 applications received, the outstanding level of training we provide is evident and highly sort after. As part of our person-centric culture, we highly value the personal touch, which extends to our recruitment process. This means that all applicants received responses from top-level management regarding the outcome of their applications. Glenville Walker again demonstrates our commitment to defying the ordinary by taking the time to add the human element that many organisations have become complacent with. We lead by example, instilling personability, empathy, and tenacity into every aspect of our business model.
These two successful candidates will shadow our partners, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience that will shape them into the leaders of the next generation. It has been said that our trainees are far ahead of their counterparts in larger corporate law firms, due to their involvement in every stage of client transactions. Joanna Sproson and Ruby Briscoe are prime examples of the high-quality training provided by Glenville Walker. They have excelled during and after their training contracts with us, breaking the mould of the legal sector with their compassion and tenacity, and in turn becoming light years ahead of their peers.
Our commitment to nurturing talent starts from early education stages, with our team members visiting schools to inspire and guide students. Jayne Croft, Corporate - Senior Associate, has been a guest lecturer at the University of Liverpool and has visited several secondary schools in the Liverpool region, including her previous school in Knowsley. Our firm’s goal is to educate, motivate, and inspire young students to aim high and whilst retaining talent across the Northwest. Legal Director, Stuart Capstick, has also visited secondary schools in the Liverpool City Region to empower students and provide insights into the legal industry. Both the corporate and litigation departments at Glenville Walker assist Liverpool John Moore’s Legal Clinic on a pro-bono basis, reviewing and amending legal documents for university students.
Our board is dedicated to creating a robust and solution-driven workforce, and we welcome ambitious individuals to join us on this journey.
We look forward to introducing two new members to the team this spring and cannot wait to see them excel within our departments.
